CASE STUDY: TruGreen Unleashes ToolBook’s Power

The Challenge:

When TruGreen ChemLawn’s Cindy Ogden approached Interactive Advantage, she faced an overwhelming assignment. Her IT department needed to deliver a fully interactive software simulation of TruGreen’s MAPS system. Branch offices around the country and thousands of TruGreen ChemLawn’s employees depended on the project’s success.

The Solution:

The Interactive Advantage team went to work right away and gathered all the TruGreen subject matter necessary for the assignment. Then, as the subject matter experts revised their copy, Interactive Advantage’s expert developers and designers prepared detailed outlines and intuitive storyboards. More than mere text and templates, Interactive Advantage incorporated virtual voice audio narration in order to enhance the online training experience. Next, they crafted customized ToolBook templates and documented timesaving best practices specifically tailored to TruGreen’s ongoing needs. This enabled Cindy and the TruGreen IT department to handle future modifications and updates.

The Results:

TruGreen ChemLawn trainers are enthusiastic about how well Interactive Advantage’s ToolBook simulation mimics their MAPS software system. They especially appreciate the way the simulator shows students what to do, let’s them try it for themselves, and then quizzes their skill level. By the end of their training, the system validates each employee’s knowledge and allows the trainers to track their progress. With the implementation of Interactive Advantage’s MAPS software simulation, TruGreen employees effectively learn the company’s software; and they successfully reproduce TruGreen’s high standards. In fact, the success at ChemLawn has motivated the trainers at TruGreen’s LandCare division to work with Interactive Advantage on order to develop their own software simulations.
